This workshop is inspired by the book: Ladies Who Launch. It is an incredible book about “embracing entrepreneurship and creativity as a lifestyle.”
From Ladies Who Launch:
There are four destinations, or steps, in the launching process. These basic steps have been behind the creation, development, and success of just about every endeavor you can imagine.
1. Imagine it.
2. Speak it.
3. Do it.
4. Celebrate it.
We will be exploring these four steps from this unique launching process, as introduced in Ladies Who Launch. We will have extensive writing exercises as well as information to take home with you to further explore your dreams to launch.
These days, when so many people suffer from unemployment or other job insecurities, entrepreneurship is on our minds more than ever. You don’t need to already have a dream to benefit from this workshop — in fact, you might be better off the more uncertain you are. Writing exercises will help you find or rekindle that dream, and we will do even more as we explore the other steps.
Even if you are not serious about entrepreneurship, it’s okay. This is a good place for you to entertain your inner hopes of launching ANYTHING (lifestyle, relationship, career) to a higher level.
A favorite quote of mine from Northern Exposure (by a wise old Shaman):
“Maybe it doesn’t matter which road we embark on… Maybe what matters is that we EMBARK.”
Wendy Fedan has been exploring entrepreneurship for over two years now, and has lauched her own business called “Create-A-Way.” She is an experienced speaker, having earned her Advanced Communicator award from Tastmasters International as well as several speaking contest awards from Toastmasters Club, Area, and Division contests. Wendy has been leading retreats since September, 2008. She is currently teaching a class, taking members through Julia Cameron’s book, The Artist’s Way.
“My house has many rooms. I occupy but a few; the rest go unvisited.”
~Lindsay Peterson~
Are you living a full life or do you occupy only a few rooms of your “house?”
Growing up, there was always a family whose home had rooms of furniture covered in plastic. The meaning was clear — “Do not touch.” We often live our lives in this way — hiding and denying parts of ourselves, and essentially covering in plastic and closing off our rooms.
With the room of a home as a point of reference, the goal of the workshop is to use drawing, collage and journaling exercises to become more aware of your needs and determine ways to get those needs met.
Please bring magazines related to nurturing, healing, or home and garden.
L’Tanya Durante enjoys mixed media art, embroidery, knitting, crocheting, and designing. In addition to completing her training as a Certified ARTbundance™ Coach, she is currently launching her Forget-Me-Not workshops designed to encourage women, especially moms, to live a fully-expressed life.
“Get That Chip Off Your Shoulder” – By exploring the processes of positive thinking, angel guidance and creating organic mandalas from raw earth materials.
Polly will take you through a series of group exercises that will shed that heavy burden (AKA: “chip”) off of your shoulders, and assist you in converting those heavy burdens into positive energy! You will use those new positive energies to venture outdoors with a notepad & pencil and intuitively collect botanicals and look for angels hiding among you in the patterns of nature…. maybe the shape of a cloud looks like an angel, or you see one in the color pattern of a rock, or in the matrix of lines on the trunk of a tree.
Your collections and the angel you find on your hike will be used to create your very own Earth Angel! Your Earth Angels will be mandala’s made from organic materials, which will then serve a healing tool for you. The next time life weighs you down and the pile of “chips” on your shoulders get too heavy to handle… you’ll know just what to do and you’ll have your Earth Angel to lead you in the right direction!
At the latter end of the workshop you may discover a “Divine Intuition” you never knew you had! The angels have a magical way of making sure our choices always serve our needs.
This workshop is a “Part Two”/graduation of the “Signs and Wonders” workshop. In “Signs & Wonders” we learned to recognize God’s signs and messages. In this workshop we will learn how to interpret these messages in a unique and creative way using writing and/or artistic exercises.
Of course, you don’t need to have taken the Signs & Wonders workshop to get something out of this.
This workshop focuses on details you may have collected in your mind over the years or recent months. You will zero-in on these details – these signs and messages from God you have pondered about – and you will use this “Connecting the Signs” technique to explore them privately, and IN-DEPTH. When you collect the signs, you can begin to CONNECT the signs. We will pay special attention to repeated messages/signs you may be receiving, and collect the signs you may not realize could be related to each other. In the end, our goal will be to attempt understanding and interpreting God’s collective and repeated messages to us.
BRING TO CLASS: Your favorite writing materials.
